When it comes to progressive socialists, some things never change. They love taking other people’s money under the guise of legal plunder, just as French economist Frederic Bastiat proposed. Socialists tend to believe that all the ills of the world center around those who have worked hard and earned wealth. However, I always wonder when they spew the rhetoric of “taxing the rich,” are they including those folks in the political, entertainment, and media elite who are their friends and supporters? Let’s be honest. Are they talking about confiscating the ‘wealth” of Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Matt Lauer, Michael Moore, Bill Maher, Warren Buffett — or just their political opposition?

As the Democrat Senate desperation builds, we see the same old tired message from the ultimate pickpockets. As reported buy the Washington Times, “Sen. Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist, called for a progressive estate tax on multi-millionaires and billionaires during a speech on Saturday. “A nation will not survive morally or economically when so few have so much while so many have so little,” Mr. Sanders said at the Vermont AFL-CIO annual convention. “We need a tax system which asks the billionaire class to pay its fair share of taxes and which reduces the obscene degree of wealth inequality in America,” said Mr. Sanders, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats.”

No, Senator Sanders, we don’t need a tax system that enables progressives to decide how to transfer wealth in America. We need a tax system that promotes growth, opportunity, and prosperity for Americans — all Americans. Anytime we hear Democrats rant about more and higher taxes, it means more for them to spend. As Sanders stated, “taxing the top .25 percent of wealthiest Americans is the fairest way to reduce wealth inequality, lower the $17 trillion national debt and pay for investments in infrastructure, education, and other neglected national priorities.”

Silly me, I thought the almost trillion dollars of stimulus passed in Obama’s first year was supposed to do all of that. So, Senator Sanders, where is all that taxpayer money?

I have an idea Bernie, stop spending money you don’t have. I understand, you need to tax folks more in order for you to continue to spend. Reminder to all: America’s national debt, when Obama brought Chicago to the White House, was $10.67 trillion. Our national debt is now at $17.5 trillion. Additionally, the wealth gap in America has exploded under the direction of Obamanomics. Obviously we don’t need a more “progressive tax” system, in the mold of Marx and Engels’ Ten Planks from the Communist Manifesto.

If you have a few minutes, check out ol’ Bernie with Rep. Michele Bachmann on CNN debating the justification and further legalization of government plunder.

As the Washington Times reports, “former U.S. Department of Labor Secretary, Robert B. Reich, another renowned progressive socialist said that America “is creating an aristocracy of wealth populated by heirs who don’t have to work for a living yet have great influence over how the nation’s productive assets are deployed,” and called Mr. Sanders‘ tax proposal “a welcome step toward reversing this trend.” According to a study conducted by the American Enterprise Institute, raising taxes on the wealthy is not as effective as cutting spending to reduce national debt and make up budget gaps.”

This is the telling point about socialists. First of all they don’t believe you actually build any business. If, by chance, you did build a business and seek to pass it on to subsequent generations, they will demonize you. Consider the American farmer who wants to pass on an inheritance to a son or daughter. This is not cool in Bernie’s world. Will this also apply to those ice cream moguls Ben and Jerry? That is some expensive ice cream.

We can all expect to hear more income inequality rhetoric from the Democrats during this election cycle. Like the minimum wage crusade, it’s all a weak attempt to rally the masses. The basic truths of sound economic policies are clear. The Washington Times article states; “Researchers examined 21 Organizations for Economic Cooperation and Development countries between 1970 and 2007 and found that countries with successful fiscal reforms.” Tax, regulatory, monetary, and governmental programs, on average, closed 85 percent of budget gaps with spending cuts. Countries that relied on at least 50 percent tax increases, saw failed fiscal reforms. Obama and his ilk have wasted far more hard working American taxpayer dollars. Regardless, we still continue to hear the cry of “we want more.” It’s time to shut the door.

The result of increased taxes from a socialist government can be seen from across the Atlantic Ocean in France, where the response has been a degradation of the upper income tax base. It has nothing to do with being economically unpatriotic, and not paying your “fair share.” It is the direct result of the government’s criminal pursuit of the wealth of the nation, making business building unfeasible.
