THEY DID IT: Obama administration finally ADMITS the biggest mistake of his presidency

There’s an old adage that says “even a broken clock is right twice a day.” And another one that says “better late than never.”

We can go back and look at one critical and foolish decision made by Barack Obama that resulted in complete chaos in the Middle East. It was his intransigent decision to withdraw all U.S. forces from Iraq — creating a vacuum. It’s funny — you didn’t hear a thing from the affectionate liberal progressive media saying it appeared Obama knew more than the generals. I suppose though, there’s nothing like hindsight giving one 20/20 vision.

But at last, our broken clock is right.

As reported by Fox News, “The American military, along with its international partners, will need to remain in Iraq even after the expected defeat of the Islamic State group, outgoing Defense Secretary Ash Carter said Saturday.

Carter said the U.S. and its coalition partners must not stop after completing the current campaign to expel ISIS from Iraq’s second largest city of Mosul. He said the militants are on a path to lasting defeat.

“But there will still be much more to do after that to make sure that, once defeated, ISIL stays defeated,” he said, using an alternative acronym for ISIS. “We’ll need to continue to counter foreign fighters trying to escape and ISIL’s attempts to relocate or reinvent itself. To do so, not only the United States but our coalition must endure and remain engaged militarily.”

“In Iraq in particular, it will be necessary for the coalition to provide sustained assistance and carry on our work to train, equip, and support local police, border guards, and other forces to hold areas cleared from ISIL,” said Carter. Carter did not say how long this continued U.S. military presence might be necessary or how many troops would be required. At any rate, those decisions are likely to fall to the Trump administration after it takes office in January.”

Yes folks, what you just read is correct.

Just imagine if Barack Obama had taken that exact same counsel back in 2009? We wouldn’t have an ISIS (ISIL is a disrespectful term towards Israel). We wouldn’t have an Iranian influence in Baghdad, as we do now. We wouldn’t have the debacle of Syria and the influence of the Russian military. We wouldn’t have the turmoil with Turkey and its Islamist pursuits under Recip Erdogan.

We’d have far better relations with the Kurds. We wouldn’t have the largest refugee crisis since World War II. We wouldn’t have the infiltration of Islamic jihadists into Europe and the terror attacks seen globally.

And finally, hundreds of thousands of Christians would still be in their ancestral homes, living in peace and worshipping their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This statement by Ash Carter amounts to Obama looking back and saying “oops, my bad.”

It was Obama’s stupid decision that set the course for all of these events, and there’s no one in the liberal progressive media who will admit as much.

Consider CNN’s Christiane Amanapour who’s now whining about how she fears for the media with a Trump administration. Barack Obama was the most dismissive and anti-free press president we’ve seen. And ask yourself Ms. Amanapour, how many times did you challenge Obama on his Middle East policies, and when did you speak out against Obama withdrawing all U.S. forces from Iraq? This is why folks don’t trust you and your peers in the fawning liberal media. And you want to speak out against Donald Trump?

Yes, Barack Obama, along with Hillary Clinton, enacted a policy that gave rise to ISIS and the global Islamic jihad. It was Obama who has enabled Iran to achieve its regional hegemony in the Middle East, running the government in Baghdad in Iraq as well as the Iraqi military.

I find it unconscionable and the height of incompetent hypocrisy that Obama’s Secretary of Defense, Ash Carter, would now admit that we need to maintain a residual force in Iraq.

My question to Barack Obama is, why is he just now learning that lesson? Leadership is about vision. And when you’re a leader you ponder the potential second, third and fourth order effects resulting from any decision you make. It’s obvious that wasn’t Obama’s consideration. He just wanted to do what he wanted to do, based on ideology, political promises, and just not being George W. Bush.

Well, it appears Bush did indeed have this right, and no aspect of revisionist history will be able to exonerate Barack Obama from the folly of his foreign policy and its detrimental consequences for so many people.

I would expect one day there’ll be a study that assesses how many lost their lives, how many were wounded, sold into sex slavery or forced from their homes…all because of Obama’s stupid decision.

And hate me for saying so, but can anyone provide me with a better definition of that decision? Ash Carter’s declaration that we need to retain a residual force in Iraq along with coalition partners is offensive.

It’s a slap in the face to those who served, sacrificed, and gave so very much in the fight to win Iraq. And now we have to watch Iranian militias and forces along with Turkish troops leading the way in Iraq.

The Obama administration is indeed a broken clock, and sadly, per Ash Carter’s words, they were right eight years too late, and after many have lost so very much.

The sooner this cast of characters has departed, the better not just for America, but truly for the world.
