ONE WORD sums up what’s truly at stake next week, folks…

What’s at stake in this final week heading into our presidential election? Simple, one word: freedom.

And there’s a very small country far away that’s preparing to fight to keep it. This is not hyperbole, but rather the result of two very incompetent people, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton — with an assist from John Kerry.

It was Hillary Clinton who gave Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov a stupid little yellow toy box with a red button calling it a “reset button.” It was an inept, intransigent ideologue, Obama, who told Russia President Dmitry Medvedev that he would have more flexibility after reelection. And it was Obama four years ago who satirically responded to Mitt Romney’s response that Russia was our greatest geopolitical threat — maybe Romney should have talked slower for Obama. Regardless, Obama made a funny, and told Romney “the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back.” Hey Barry, those folks over in Crimea, Ukraine and the Baltic States don’t think you’re funny…actually, the joke is on you!

As reported by the Daily Caller, The small Baltic nation of Estonia is teaching citizens how to fight an insurgency war in case Russia decides to invade.

Estonian citizens compete in weekend competitions intended to teach them the skills necessary to mount an insurgency war. The events are held nearly by the Estonian Defense League, a government-sponsored militia group, nearly every weekend.

Estonia’s military is comprised of around 6,000 active forces, a tiny sum in comparison to the massive Russian military stationed near the country’s eastern border. The government knows it would not survive long in a conventional fight with Russia, so it instead plans to engage in a nation-wide insurgency.

“The best deterrent is not only armed soldiers, but armed citizens, too,” Estonian Brig. Gen. Meelis Kiili, the head of the Estonian Defense League, told the New York Times.

Many eastern European countries witnessed Russia’s invasion of Crimea and worry they could be next. In response, Estonia is encouraging its citizens to learn tactics similar to those used by insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan, particularly the use of IEDs.

“They scared us,” Jaan Vokk, a retired Estonian army corporal who served in Afghanistan, told NYT. “And a Russian is just a human being as well. He would be scared.”

The league also trains citizens in skills like marksmanship, basic first aid and enemy evasion. Vivika Barnabas, a coordinator for the militia, recently participated in an overnight evasion exercise with some of her female militia members.”

Now, you know I just have to go there. Obama and Hillary would respond to this by admonishing the Estonians about putting guns into the hands of civilians. You know, that whole “a well-regulated militia” thing about “keeping and bearing arms,” and that right “shall not be infringed.” Boy howdy, good thing the Estonians don’t have Obama as president and Hillary running for president; they would, of course, blame guns for a Russian invasion — after all, that’s what they do when we’re attacked domestically by Islamic jihadists.

And here’s your history lesson for today, progressive socialists. The National Rifle Association was granted a charter by the state of New York on November 17, 1871, the date it was officially founded. Civil War Gen. Ambrose Burnside, who was also the former governor of Rhode Island and a U.S. senator, became the fledgling NRA’s first president. Yes, that is Civil War Union General Burnside of “Burnside’s Bridge” fame at the Battle of Antietam. The reason the NRA was established…to improve rifle marksmanship.

It looks to me like the Estonia Defense League would be attacked by the liberal progressive socialists of the gun control left here in America. But these folks understand one thing: their personal security is their personal responsibility. And just like the Estonian citizens, the NRA sponsors shooting competitions, those skills in accuracy are why the organization was established.

The Estonian government encourages defense league members to keep stashes of clothes, canned foods and ammunition ready in case of a Russian invasion. Around 15,500 people currently participate in the militia organization. The league also sponsors boy and girl scout organizations, adding another 9,000 potential insurgents.

Estonia has a history of engaging in insurgency campaigns against foreign occupiers. Partisans fought both the Nazis and the Soviet Union in the mid-20th century.

Several eastern European countries are preparing for a potential insurgency against Russia, including Poland. While both Estonia and Poland are NATO members, neither country is operating under the assumption that the U.S. and the rest of Europe will come to their aid should the Russians invade.

The folks in Eastern Europe know the lessons of history. As well, they’ve come to appreciate the freedom they earned that came after a man stood at the Brandenburg Gate and demanded, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall” — and thus ushered in a new era of liberty and freedom for those who had not known such.

And now, we stand on the verge of abandoning these brave men and women, just as Obama and Clinton did four Americans at Benghazi. There are many watching, and some preparing, for the outcome of our election next Tuesday. What shall the world learn about us? And let me calm the fears of our freedom-loving compatriots in Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, along with Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Slovakia…I will not allow a President Donald Trump to turn away from you. I will fight to ensure we strengthen NATO and stand eye-to-eye with Vladimir Putin and send a clear message: freedom will not back down. I’m not looking for a war, but I will not allow y’all to be dishonored and enslaved once again. This is about a will, a character to deter aggression.

I look forward to visiting Estonia one day, and going to the range with y’all…and I will being my own AR-15. And afterwards we shall make a video telling Putin, “Molon Labe.”
