Obama celebrates Earth Day by emitting 375 tons of CO2

In a case of astounding liberal progressive hypocrisy, President Obama burned more than 35,000 gallons of fuel on Earth Day yesterday, emitting 375 TONS of carbon dioxide. The President took the Marine One chopper to Andrews Air Force Base, flew to Washington state and then onto Tokyo, Japan.

Shortly after Obama’s takeoff, the White House issued a statement that “Earth Day is about taking action.” And pollution, apparently.

According the Daily Mail, Air Force One consumes 5 gallons of jet fuel for every mile it flies. The U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates that burning the fuel emits 21.1 pounds of CO2 per gallon. Therefore the total presidential fuel consumption for Earth Day, not including automobile motorcades, is an estimated 35,609 gallons.

Barack Obama and Al Gore have assured us that man-caused climate change is a fact. I may question that, but I have no question about another fact that’s undeniable: they’re both hypocrites.
