Mrs. Clinton, consider yourself warned: pipe down about the NRA or…

It’s Sunday morning and has been a great day so far here at the National Rifle Association convention in Louisville. We’re bunking down at the Galt House Hotel and this morning got up at 5am and took off for a run along the Ohio River from the hotel up river to the restored pedestrian bridge that goes over the river to the north side. Gotta tell ya, it was a picturesque sight to cross the river as the sun was rising through the early morning haze of the mighty Ohio river. I thought about how so many of the great pioneers and settlers first came down that river and settled places like Louisville. It was that indomitable individual spirit that gave birth to this great Nation.

And here at the NRA convention, when you walk through the exhibit hall you see the descendants of that spirit. This morning, Angela and I attended the NRA Prayer Breakfast where the keynote speaker was Dr. James Dobson. The event was sponsored by the group “Fathers in the Field.” This organization is rooted in the words of Isaiah 1:17, “Defend the cause of the Fatherless.” They seek out and provide Christian men who will mentor fatherless young men, with a motto of “Faith, Fatherhood, Forgiveness.”

Fathers in the Field was founded in Lander Wyoming and created by a man who was deserted by his own Father at a young age and keenly felt that loss this entire life. Upon accepting Christ as his Savior in 2002 and being reconciled to his Heavenly Father, John Smithbaker stated a journey of understanding, acceptance, and most importantly, extending and asking forgiveness. In 2005, John was inspired to create a way to seek and help others suffering the pain of a father’s abandonment, and Fathers in the Field — a natural outgrowth of his faith and his love for the outdoors — was born.

And if you think this is not important, 50% of this Country’s children — over 25 million kids under 18 — are growing up in homes without their fathers. What you notice here at the NRA convention is that families are here together — moms and dads with their kids. They’re here bonding and training their children about their most important right, the right to keep and bear arms, which shall not be infringed. They’re teaching their children why their vital First Amendment rights will not exist if there is no Second Amendment right. They’re teaching them the history and intent of the Founding Fathers to ensure that we remain a free people, able to pursue our happiness, not become subjected to a government that believes it can grant rights — and therefore take them away — as it guarantees happiness.

These parents are here teaching their kids to be the next generation, part of the American lineage that can be traced back to those families who first traveled down the Ohio river and expanded this great Nation into the frontiers. What a better place to be than here for these young men and women — with their families.

Therefore, when I hear about Hillary Clinton bumping her gums about the NRA convention and how mothers should fear this organization and the “gun lobby”… I have to say one word, seriously? Mrs. Clinton, let me inform you of one of the speakers at the NRA Prayer Breakfast. It was Mark “Oz” Geist, along with his wife and daughter giving their testimony about faith, fatherhood and service to our Nation.

Oh, his name is not familiar? Mrs. Clinton, Mark Geist is a former Marine, and was one of the survivors from your abandonment of Americans in Benghazi, Libya. He was the man who fought to save the personnel at the Special Mission Compound and from the roof of the CIA Annex in that hellhole. He was severely wounded during the “spontaneous demonstration video protest” by mortar fire that left his arm barely hanging on by thin shreds of skin.

See Mrs. Clinton, when you talk about, “at this point, what difference does it make,” you should’ve been there this morning at the prayer breakfast to hear his wife attest to the difference it makes. But see Mrs. Clinton, you sit back with your out-of-touch progressive socialist elitism and condemn the NRA, not realizing that the National Rifle Association is made up of a membership of everyday Americans — men, women, children — who love freedom. It is not, as you dismiss it, a “gun lobby”; it’s the collective voices of Americans who love God, Liberty, and Freedom — things it appears you know nothing of, and wish to restrict.

Mrs. Clinton, my wife Angela and I would much prefer to be here in Louisville at the NRA convention than at a Planned Parenthood gathering, where you received an award and recognition named after Margaret Sanger. Something tells me you just don’t see too many families at a Planned Parenthood convention. And as a black man, when I consider the horrific racist statements of Margaret Sanger I must ask, do you embrace those same philosophies? Hence, why I’m appalled that anyone in the black community would support you, knowing you embrace such beliefs that have decimated the black community and been responsible for some 13-15 million black babies to be killed — that, Ma’am, is genocide.

The NRA has a women’s policy committee, Mrs. Clinton. And when I see Taya Kyle here — you do know who she is, Mrs. Clinton — and young girls who are shooting champions, it reminds me that you do not speak for all women in America.

So, Mrs. Clinton, please stop listening to your insidious and rather stupid team that’s feeding you ill-advised talking points. I recommend you stop talking about the NRA, because I am now a board member and I’ll make it my mission to fire right back at you. Just keep hanging out with your followers, dwindling as they are, and leave us freedom and liberty loving Americans alone. Mothers in America have nothing to fear from the NRA, because real American mothers are right here at this gathering and are members. Real American mothers need their Second Amendment right to defend themselves and their families.

Real American mothers have not had 24/7 personal security guarding them for the majority of their lives like you have. So pipe down, Ma’am — or else you will draw my ire once again. And just you so you know, I’m raising my daughters to shoot firearms because they will not be victims; rather, they will be confident American women who can defend themselves. And at this point, that makes a whole lot of difference between them as empowered women — and what you are advocating, victimhood.
