This week I was interviewed on Grassroots radio out of Denver, and the host asked me what I thought was the most troubling story of the last seven days. I thought about what’s happening in Ukraine. I pondered the murder of the three American Doctors in Kabul, Afghanistan. I briefly considered the comments by Nevada rancher, Cliven Bundy. I ruminated over the revelations of more disturbing news about the Veterans Administration and the allegations of 40 veteran deaths due to nefarious list management — horrible, but can be rectified easily — sadly my fellow veterans suffered and died.
However, I came to a quick resolution and addressed the incident we reported on earlier this week from Chicago. An article, written in the Chicago Sun-Times by Neil Steinberg, compared black supporters of Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner to Jews who collaborated with the Nazis against their brethren.
“As a general rule, individuals will sell out the interests of their groups in return for personal benefit,” Steinberg wrote in his column, which claimed that Rauner is buying off the black community and its leaders. “It isn’t just a black thing. Jews collaborated with the Nazis during World War II, helping them to round up their own people in the hopes they’d be the last to go.”
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn’s camp praised the piece and tweeted it out to supporters several times. But the tweets were deleted after outrage from the Jewish community. Not outrage from the black community, mind you.
As well, the dissent was offered privately, not publicly. Can you imagine what would have happened if a conservative writer and governor had done this? Yes, the hypocrisy is laughable.
But why is this my top concern for the week? Because it demonstrates a vile cancer in America: the degradation, demeaning and disrespect of black conservatives. It is this Alinsky-type assault which has become the new 21st Century “high tech lynching” and continues to go unreported and unnoticed but actually embraced, promoted, and advocated by the liberal progressive socialist Left and their media accomplices.I see these types of media lynchings as the current modus of the new KKK-like arm of the Democrat party. They no longer wear hoods and carry torches, but instead don designer clothing and attend swanky cocktail parties. The objective is still the same: fear, intimidation, and coercion to punish those who have escaped or seek to escape the Democrat plantation. Years ago it was physical, now it is metaphysical and more so emotional, yet the desired end state is the same: personal destruction and character assassination, which is a different form of death. The plantation today is an economic one and the crop yielded is not agricultural but electoral votes and political power.
This week, everyone went bonkers about Cliven Bundy, calling him a racist. Let me be very clear, I found much of what he said offensive and to a degree, rather ignorant. Is he a racist? Heck, I don’t know. I don’t know the man and I’m not going to castigate him based on a single statement — regardless of how poorly expressed it was.
However, the actions of Neil Steinberg and Governor Quinn were racist and symbolic of a Democrat party whose history is rooted in racism – they’ve just cleaned up their acts. I give no homage to President Lyndon Johnson because his ulterior motive was to establish a dependency, a welfare nanny-state mentality within the black community. As I have said, that is a form of insidious slavery that destroys the will, determination, and drive of the individual, and we see the results in the inner cities, especially the black community.
This is what the Democrats have sought and do not want to lose. This is why Steinberg wrote his hate-filled piece in order to scare blacks from departing their new economic plantation.
Steinberg and the Democrats will fail because they do not realize the strength of the black community. It may seem only a few are standing up, but in the months ahead, I believe you’ll be surprised.
