Jimmy Carter to speak at conference linked to Muslim Brotherhood

I am no longer amazed by anything in the Bizarro World of liberal progressives. This week we reported on Presidential Study Directive-11 (PSD-11), which appears to indicate Obama administration support of the Muslim Brotherhood — the Libyan version explicitly.

And now thanks to the Clarion Project we have another disturbing episode — this time by former President Jimmy Carter who will speak and sign books at the 51st annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). The Clarion Project reports that Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) is also listed as a speaker on its program.

The U.S. Justice Department labeled ISNA an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism-financing trial in American history and listed the group as a Muslim Brotherhood entity. The Clarion Project says this event’s speaker lineup includes many Islamist radicals, debunking the moderate image ISNA puts forth. The name of this year’s conference is, “Generations Rise: Elevating Muslim American Culture.” It will be held in Detroit on August 29-September 1.

It is not “Islamophobic” to question why a former American president is speaking to an organization designated as having ties to the Islamic terrorist group, the Muslim Brotherhood. This just goes to show the lack of understanding the leftist progressives have of this organization — or perhaps they do know and are willing allies?

So let me get this right, a group named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism funding trial in American history is holding a convention with the theme of “Elevating Muslim American Culture.” Call me crazy, but – oh wait, the Left already has.

The Clarion Project in an earlier analysis showed that “ISNA’s religious leadership is made up of radicals, including one whose deportation is sought by the Department of Homeland Security because of his links to Hamas. Sayyid Syeed, former ISNA Secretary-General and current National Director of its Office of Interfaith and Community Alliances, was videotaped in 2006 declaring, “Our job is to change the constitution of America.”

Mr. Syeed seems to be confused since Mohammed Elibiary has already stated that our Constitution is “islamically compliant.” Oh yea, Elibiary is an advisor to the Department of Homeland Security, so don’t expect Syeed to be deported anytime soon.

In 2007, the Justice Department labeled ISNA an unindicted co-conspirator in the successful trial of the Holy Land Foundation, a Muslim Brotherhood front found to be financing Hamas. The U.S. government also listed ISNA as one of the “individuals/entities who are and/or were members of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood

Last year, President Obama delivered a videotaped address for ISNA’s convention, praising it despite that event’s extremist lecturers. So now this year, former President Carter will join such dubious Islamists on stage such as Imam Siraj Wahhaj, whose history of extremist and anti-American incitement is too long to review. For example, in 1992, he said, “If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a Caliphate. He further stated, “take my word, if eight million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us.” Or how about another speaker, Zaid Shakir, an imam with a history of radicalism. Last year, he preached that the U.S. Constitution is inferior to sharia because it grants equality to Muslims and non-Muslims.

Just recently one speaker and panelist, Dawud Walid, the executive director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), most recently disparaged Independence Day and questioned whether fallen U.S. soldiers should be honored for Memorial Day. He has also expressed support of the Muslim Brotherhood and vilifies the U.S. government.

Feel free to peruse the full Clarion Project list and assessment of speakers and their abhorrent statements and condemnations of our America. I am appalled that as a nation, we’re putting the gun to our own head and giving legitimacy and credibility to a subversive organization.

You can only imagine the political bragging rights this affords ISNA and other groups aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood. It also serves to validate this Islamist agenda right here at home and portray us as weak – as demonstrated by the brazen public appearance of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declaring an Islamic state, a caliphate.

Of course this is all part of the liberal progressive outreach program called “coexist” — but in reality it’s just a matter of time until this tolerance becomes a one way street leading to cultural suicide. Earlier this week I made the assertion that this seems like treason. I’ve changed my mind. It is treason.
