I wish I could report that the horrific number of black babies being aborted in New York City was not representative of the nation at large. Sadly that is not the case.
In my home state of Georgia, black babies are aborted at a rate nearly 2.5 times greater than white babies, according to CNS News. While whites outnumber blacks 2-to-1 in Georgia, 53.6 percent of all abortions were among black babies.
I am heartbroken that my community is doing this to itself. Aided and abetted by “caring” white progressives who maintain this is a positive empowering action, black women are voluntarily destroying their community’s future.Since 1973, nearly 20 million black babies have been aborted. The entire US black population is around 40 million. A generation has been destroyed.
I was just in Georgia last week and had a fantastic trip down memory lane through the rolling clay hills of my home state. It was incredibly humbling to drive the ol’ town circle in Cuthbert (Randolph County), hit the Blakely Road and take the hill up and turn right onto South Street. As a kid, South Street was the place where my granddad’s house was, and to my surprise, it was still there. To stand at that place and reminisce of the days of sitting on that porch with Granddad and Dad. Remembering them watching me and the other boys play football and baseball in the big open field across the street — priceless.
But those days are long gone. Between black-on-black crime and genocidal rates of abortion, the community is facing decimation. Conservatives must not abandon this issue. How many children will never get to know of Dr. King’s dream? And it’s not a matter of adding more empty government programs like “Brother’s Keeper.”
When the black community had strong families, focused on education, developed small business entrepreneurship, and the black church was an integral part of the community. The community thrived – and the babies survived.
