For the second straight year at CPAC, I was invited to speak at the Shabbat dinner for the Young Jewish Conservatives. If there was ever a time when we need strong young Jewish voices and leaders for Israel, it is now.
And that is why I am proud to lend my voice in support of a very special young man, Daniel Ackerman, the National Vice Director of the Future Leaders for Israel organization. Daniel’s parents, Michael and Susan, are very dear friends of mine, and I share in their pride and admiration for what Daniel is seeking to achieve.
We must develop the next generation of principled and resolute leaders not just for America, but also for Israel. And the vital aspect of this is to develop young Jewish leaders on our American campuses, which have become a hot bed of anti-Semitism and training grounds for pro-Palestinian activism, basically support of Islamic terrorist activity and disinformation.
Future Leaders for Israel (FLI) is a registered non-profit with a pending 501(c)3 status — you can bet the IRS ain’t rushing to approve this one either — that exists to cultivate the next generation of leaders for Israel on college campuses. FLI originated as a grass roots student initiative and after incredible success, evolved into a national entity. FLI is made up of and run by undergraduate, graduate, and recently graduated college students, who recognize and seek to fix 3 major problems that plague the pro-Israel community:
> There is no national network of pro-Israel organizations, students, and student organizations
> Pro-Israel student organizations are isolated within their campuses
> Anti-Israel activity is becoming more organized and growing rapidly on college campuses
The goal of the organization is to create a stronger network of activists for Israel through student and professional unification.Anyone familiar with South Florida knows about the horrific instances of anti-Semitic activity on Florida Atlantic University (FAU). As a result the next FLI Conference will be held at FAU hosted by the pro-Israel student organization Owls for Israel and the FAU Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach County on March 28th-30th. A Pennsylvania FLI Conference will be held at Hillel JUC of Pittsburgh, hosted by the Hillel and pro-Israel student delegations of the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University on April 6th-8th.
We’ve reported here frequently about the Muslim Brotherhood-supported organizations like the Muslim Student Association (MSA), heavily bankrolled by Saudi and other dollars. Their campaigns on American colleges and universities are designed to threaten and intimidate Jewish students and pervert the truth for American students. Don’t believe me? Watch thus video of former Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Oren being verbally assaulted by students from the Muslim Student Union of UC-Irvine.It’s time to fight back. I hope you’ll visit the FLI site to learn more and how you can help.
We need the next generation of Benyamin Netanyahus, Michael Orens, Caroline Glicks, and I say, let us be the ones who raise them up — as we raise up the next generation of American leaders who will stand with them. Let us make sure the ranks of the Future Leaders of Israel and their supporters swell mightily.
