DISGUSTING: Look what happened to US company that lobbied for Iran nuke deal

Let me be clear, I’m all for the free market and free enterprise as the means by which we defeat poverty. When we build and manufacture, we get Americans to work. I also support trade — yes, free trade — but I don’t care much for trade policies that aren’t fair and hurt American consumers and workers. I abhor crony capitalism and government venture capitalism. The federal government should NEVER use public taxpayer funds to skew the market or the private sector. The federal government should NEVER be in the business of selecting winners and losers in the free market economy — but sadly that’s exactly what’s happened.

For these very reasons I voted against the extension of the Export-Import Bank, and supported Financial Services Chairman Jeb Hensarling in his stance against the taxpayer-funded export credit agency. By the way, why hasn’t this very issue come up in GOP debates? The Ex-Im bank is just another example of corporate welfare, regardless of folks blowing sunshine up your skirt telling you it benefits small businesses. One of the big time beneficiaries of the Ex-Im bank is Boeing — and what just happened with Boeing truly has me angry.

As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, “Aerospace giant Boeing lobbied hard for the nuclear deal that lifted sanctions on Iran, but the Iranian regime announced on Thursday that it would spend billions to buy aircraft from French competitor Airbus.

Boeing spent millions of dollars since late last year on a lobbying operation that pushed for Iranian sanctions relief. It expected to be a major beneficiary of the lifting of sanctions on Iran’s aviation sector, despite U.S. lawmakers’ concerns that that sector supports Tehran’s international terrorist proxies.

Though Boeing has long eyed business opportunities in Iran, it failed to show up at last week’s CAPA Iran Aviation Summit, the first such event in Iran in nearly 40 years.

The company cited visa trouble, though some speculated that the State Department had discouraged Boeing from attending to avoid the appearance that U.S. companies that supported the Iran deal were profiting from its implementation.

Airbus walked away from the conference with a 114-plane purchase order from Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization (CAO). Iranian state-run media pegged the deal at $50 billion. Other observers estimated it was worth about $27 billion.

Iran is expected to expand its commercial airline fleet by hundreds of planes in the wake of U.S. and E.U. sanctions relief. “Iranian airlines will carefully examine all options for the country’s new aviation fleet purchases and definitely will not restrict their choices to a single country or aircraft manufacturing company,” according to senior CAO official Mohammad Khodakarami.”

So Boeing spent millions of dollars to persuade our government to relax sanctions on the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism so they could make a buck? Boeing saw their own special interests as more important than our national security interests. I just have to ask if the CEO of Boeing had a son or daughter in the military, would he feel the same about doing business deals with Iran? And how foolish does Boeing look to have done all that lobbying and courting, only to get dissed by Hasan Rouhani who signed the agreement and then sauntered up to French President Hollande and Airbus. Actually, Barack Obama has just embarrassed America through this entire episode. Again.

Remember those infamous “snapback” sanctions that could be emplaced if Iran violated the agreement in any way? We said then as now, if you believed such a thing would happen, then you also believe in unicorns and little fellas with pots of gold at the end of rainbows.

This was all a ruse, a charade, and Iran knows it can act with impunity and abject belligerence because we in the West are so wedded to money, we’ll prostitute ourselves with anyone. Iran knows that and will use this to its advantage. So Boeing fights against Iranian sanctions all in the hopes of expanding its business, and what happened after they played their role of dhimmitude? They got nothing…Iran got everything.

Just imagine the day when Iranian Airlines Airbus passenger jet daily direct flights start landing in New York’s JFK International Airport, and they’re not transporting the Iranian delegation for a UN General Assembly. Gotta ask you a question, who the heck would want to travel back to Iran knowing the Obama administration would allow you to be taken hostage and use you like a chess piece?

“A team of 11 lobbyists with the Monument Policy Group pushed the Iran deal on Boeing’s behalf, according to disclosure forms. They included former aides to Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.), House Ways and Means chairman Kevin Brady (R., Texas), and House Armed Services ranking member Adam Smith (D., Wash.), as well as a former White House senior counsel and special adviser to the president.

Boeing’s in-house lobbying shop, which spent nearly $5 million in the fourth quarter of 2015 alone, also reported working on “U.S.-Iran relations.” The company did not respond to a request for comment on the Airbus deal.

If Boeing eventually reaches a deal with Iran’s CAO, it could have financial support from U.S. taxpayers thanks to efforts in Congress to block measures prohibiting such support to countries that the U.S. considers state sponsors of terrorism.”

Nothing has changed about Iran’s behavior. The blood of Americans is on their hands. But apparently that means very little to anyone at Boeing, and certain members of our US Congress. I have a novel idea, put the kids of Boeing’s executives on a Riverine Assault boat in the Persian Gulf. No, I don’t support a draft, but I certainly support the concept of patriotism.

Hmm, I wonder what “we support our troops” means at Boeing? Because it seems to mean they support our troops being killed and maimed by the taxpayer funds which are heading to the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism.

Perhaps y’all want to let Boeing know how you feel? Tell them: FUBAR.
