Well, I love it when the liberal progressive socialist left shows us who they really are. And just exactly who they’ve become was on full display at the most recent Democrat convention in Philadelphia — by the way, kinda weird for advocates of the “fundamental transformation of America” to hold their convention in the place where this Republic was fundamentally established. Anyhow, we saw the new American socialist party boo a decorated US Marine Corps General. We saw the party of the jackass interrupt a moment of silence for our law enforcement officers — shouting “black lives matter.” We witnessed the deplorable actions of the audience harassing and shouting down a Medal of Honor recipient.
We already know the sitting president, and the person nominated to be president by the real party of deplorables, abandoned Americans to die in a combat engagement and then advanced a false narrative, a lie. And, shamefully, the liberal progressives, led by Barack Obama, have done nothing to resolve the issues plaguing our Veterans Administration — to the detriment, and death, of those who were willing to make the last full measure of devotion to this great Nation.
So, the most recent display of Democrat disdain towards our military should come as no surprise. As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, Randy Perkins, a Democrat running for Congress in Florida’s 18th district, berated his Republican opponent, Brian Mast, on Monday for claiming that his military service qualifies him to serve in Congress.
“So tell me why the sacrifices and the services that you have provided for this country make you capable of solving issues?” Perkins asked Mast, a double-amputee veteran of the war in Afghanistan, at a recent candidate forum. Perkins then listed off numerous issues and asked Mast how he would fix them.
“Well, it’s what’s involved in that service that makes me very capable of solving any number of those issues,” Mast responded. Before Mast could explain how he would address various issues, Perkins interjected and told him to pick two specifically. Mast named the ongoing problems with the Department of Veteran Affairs and recent changes to the rules of engagement for combat as issues for which he could offer solutions if elected to Congress. Perkins again interrupted Mast before he could offer his solutions.
Perkins became incensed that Mast offered up issues relating to the military and continued to talk over the Republican.
Just so you know, Brian Mast was a Special Operations EOD Specialist, so if there’s anyone who knows how to solve issues, it would be Brian Mast. But sadly, we see that for the leftists, military service truly doesn’t mean anything. I suppose Mr. Perkins, if he could, would look General George Washington in the eye and ask him, “yo dude, what makes you think your service in the military qualifies you to be president?”
I think Mr. Perkins should know that it was not too long ago, about 45 years, that between 73%-76% of the folks on Capitol Hill had served in the military — but hey, you know, we are just so dumb we’re not capable of solving problems. What truly dismissive and disrespectful behavior exhibited from this misguided soul. I’ve seen young enlisted men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, under the most extreme and dangerous situations, making key decisions where lives were at stake. Based on my time on Capitol Hill, I can attest that the difference between those who served in the military and politicians is that we don’t head home until the mission is accomplished.
Mr. Perkins represents the progressive socialist left attitude that only a certain elite should be allowed into the realm of serving the public — actually, to their minds, being served by the public. Anyone who’s been willing to give their life for this great Nation has exhibited the highest form of leadership, and that, frankly, over-qualifies them to hold political office. Can you imagine Perkins looking at Grant, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Carter and Bush Sr. as they first ran for political office and challenging them on continuing their service to this Nation, but as an elected official? Think about this scenario: what happened when former Congressman Joe Walsh made what the left deemed a similar statement about former US Army helicopter pilot, and double amputee, now Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth? The left went apoplectic and abjectly nuts attacking Walsh; will the left make the same assertions and condemnations about Perkins? Yes, that’s a rhetorical question because they will not. See, there are different rules for the left. When it comes to their double amputee combat Veteran, of course their sacrifice makes them qualified to run for political office.
However, if you’re not part of the socialist-led tribe, then your sacrifices and loss of your legs mean nothing. Just like you can be an unaccomplished community organizer, but if you’re a progressive socialist having the right skin color, why of course you’re qualified to be president. But, if you’re a constitutional conservative and black, you’re denigrated and disparaged as an Uncle Tom, sellout, oreo, House N!@#er or white man’s porch monkey.
Randy Perkins is a disgusting and deplorable individual, but he is reflective of his party. They define who is acceptable, capable and qualified — and if you’re not embracing their ideology, well, you can watch the video and judge for yourself. Sadly, there are those in South Florida who will support this disturbed person who just disrespected all American Veterans, disabled or otherwise — telling them that their service in the military means nothing. Hey, Chucklehead, there are millions of Veterans who would happily debate you on the issues, because our bond is in our commitment to this Nation. But the real question is, will Tammy Duckworth issue a statement condemning Perkins? Is her allegiance to the party — or to those who served honorably in the combat zones of Iraq and Afghanistan?
