We all know about the “Chicago way” when it comes to politics. Furthermore, America is quite accustomed to the bonds between the progressive socialists of the Democrat party and their media accomplices — such as Ben Rhoades the White House national security advisor whose brother is David Rhoades, President of the Constant Barack Station (CBS). As Breitbart reports, “if Ben’s name sounds familiar, that is likely due to his reported role in the editing of the now infamous Benghazi talking points “– of course it was CBS who dismissed investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson over her Benghazi reporting.
And so this story coming out of Chicago isn’t actually that surprising.
As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, “The campaign of Illinois gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner (R) is asking the Chicago Sun-Times to disclose that one of its political reporters is married to a Democratic consultant with ties to incumbent Democrat Pat Quinn. At issue is an October 6 report on Rauner’s “hardball tactics” that said the Republican businessman had once threatened a former colleague. Before the article was published, a Rauner campaign official emailed Sun-Times editor Jim Kirk and requested that the story note that one of the authors of the article, Dave McKinney, is married to Democratic consultant Ann Liston.”
This seems to be a familiar issue in the Obama administration as well, as reported by Breitbart in September 2013, “Claire Shipman, a senior national correspondent at ABC News, is married to no other than Jay Carney, the White House Press Secretary. If those ties between the Obama White House and ABC News aren’t disturbing enough, the president of ABC News, Ben Sherwood, is brother to Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall,a special advisor to Barack Obama. Virginia Moseley is a CNN Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief married to Tom Nides, a Deputy Secretary of State under Barack Obama.”
Ahh, it’s just all in the family – even though The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) states in its ethical code that reporters should “avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived,” and “disclose unavoidable conflict.”But then again, we all know that codes, rules and laws don’t really apply to progressive socialists like they do for everyone else. Can you imagine what the Left would say if a Republican presidential administration had such blatant violations of this SPJ code? Yes, I know, the progressive socialists are saying, so what, and I’m sure they’re looking to see how many Fox News folks have ties to the Republican party. Well, let me help you out, Fox News political contributor Juan Williams’ son Raffi is the Deputy Communications Director of the Republican National Committee.
Meanwhile, back in Chicago, The Beacon reports that “public records and other information they obtained connect Ann Liston’s firm, Adelstein/Liston, to the Illinois Freedom Political Action Committee (PAC), which is backed by pro-Quinn public employee unions and has targeted Rauner throughout the 2014 campaign. Illinois Freedom PAC, for example, has paid some $636,003 to Jemma Productions LLC, according to public records. Established on January 23 of this year, Jemma Production shares the same Chicago address as Adelstein/Liston. A nameplate outside the firm’s office has a piece of paper below it stating that the production outfit shares the space. Adelstein/Liston partner Eric Adelstein is also listed as the owner of Jemma Productions, according to records from the Illinois Secretary of State.”
So a reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times — married to a Democrat consultant with ties to a progressive political PAC backed by public employee unions — is authoring an article attacking the GOP Gubernatorial candidate and the Sun-Times doesn’t provide a disclaimer to the article? Yep, that kinda smells, but then again it’s Democrat business as usual. And oh by the way, the website of Illinois Freedom PAC showcases multiple stories written by Chicago Sun-Times reporter McKinney.
But this isn’t the only time GOP candidate Rauner has been attacked by the Sun-Times. You might remember columnist Neil Steinberg in April compared black supporters of Rauner to Jews who collaborated with the Nazis. The piece was later tweeted out by the Quinn campaign, causing controversy in the Jewish community.
Never forget that Chicago is the home of Saul Alinsky, Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Rodham-Clinton, David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett, Tony Rezko, Jesse Jackson Sr and Jr, Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, David Plouffe, Bill Ayres, Bernadette Dorn – need I say more?
