Bogus Senate CIA report: what’s the point?

The fallout continues from the Senate Democrat report on Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EIT). I even found an article in USA Today where countries like China found the gall to address the issue and condemn America for human rights violations.

But most laughable was the esteemed United Nations calling for criminal prosecutions of anyone involved — funny enough, this is the same gathering which stands with Islamic terrorists who behead people and use children as human shields.

But what I find interesting is that not one single CIA Director since 9-11 has agreed with the report – including the current head, John Brennan — perhaps that’s why outgoing Colorado Senator Mark Udall called for his firing from the Senate floor. Look for Brennan to do the walk of shame next after Hagel.

I’ve been checking out the liberal progressive media analysis — well, if you can call it that. One commentator guest on MSNBC said that EIT has been a proven failure because we still have Islamic terrorist organizations and she named al-Qaida and ISIS. I guess she forgot President Obama told us that they were decimated and on the run.

Most impressive was General Michael Hayden’s response to a stunned Brian Williams over at NBC. Williams asked Gen. Hayden how would he feel if it were his family or relatives undergoing EIT? Hayden simply replied, “I would not give a concern if they were responsible for the deaths of 3,000 Americans.”

I think the biggest bit of propaganda is that many keep referring to this as a “Senate Report” — that is completely hogwash. It was a Senate Democrat report and some call it a “torture report” and are buying into the unquestionably biased conclusions — as not a single CIA operative was interviewed.

The Washington Free Beacon reports, “The CIA’s enhanced interrogation program “saved lives and played a vital role in weakening al-Qaida,” according to a minority report from the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence released on Tuesday. The GOP report was a rebuttal to majority Democrats’ study criticizing the controversial former CIA program as ineffective and destructive.”

“We have no doubt the CIA’s detention program saved lives and played a vital role in weakening al-Qaida while the Program was in operation,” said the report written by Sens. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga.; Richard Burr, R-N.C.; James Risch, R-Idaho; Dan Coats, R-Ind.; Marco Rubio, R-Fla.; and Tom Coburn, R-Okla. “When asked about the value of detainee information and whether he missed the intelligence from it, one senior CIA operator [redacted] told members: ‘I miss it every day.’ We understand why,” the senators wrote.”

Of course the detractors will say this is just a political stunt — as if what Sen. Dianne Feinstein did wasn’t? As a matter of fact, it was Sen. Feinstein who in speaking on CNN with Wolf Blitzer, stated that she took her action because the GOP will be the majority next year. Seems like a vindictive “scorched earth” endeavor by the Senate Intelligence Chairwoman.

According to the Beacon, “the GOP report argued that sleep deprivation played a “significant role in Abu Zubaydah’s identification of Jose Padilla as an al-Qaida operative tasked to carry out an attack against the United States.” It noted that Abu Zubaydah had been subjected to 126 hours of sleep deprivation over a period of 136 hours during the time he revealed this information. The report also argued that the program “played a key role in disrupting the Heathrow and Canary Wharf plotting.”

The bigger concern in all of this has to be the level of disrespect being shown towards our CIA agents who live in the shadows in order to protect our way of life and keep us safe.

As others have said, it’s really quite hypocritical that sleep deprivation, drinking lots of water, loud music and yes, I know wearing diapers offends people more than indiscriminately launching drones and killing civilians — President Obama’s usage much as Lyndon Johnson did during Vietnam.

And why are we so concerned about the well-being of individuals who wholeheartedly embrace beheading Americans? No, I’m not making any moral equivalency argument, which is what the left is seeking to do. The real issue is that we cannot be viewed as weak.

This is nothing more than a politicized assault by the left as a parting shot before the change of guard on Capitol Hill. It’s also an attempt by the left to dominate the dialogue in the news cycle — precluding any discussion on Jonathan Gruber.

But what is most disturbing is why would the progressive socialist left want to embarrass its own country? Yep, we water-boarded some fellas – they’re bad actors, so what? When you decide to kill 3,000 of our countrymen, we’re going to hit back hard against those clearly identified as being complicit.

So the left believes they have secured some moral high ground — heck, against Islamo-fascists and terrorists we already had it. We are indeed better than that, which is why so many come to our country — including the enemy to undermine our existence from within.

But don’t expect the brave men and women in the CIA to not fight back. The Examiner says “a group of former CIA officials launched a website called CIASavedLives.com in response to the committee’s majority report, defending the agency’s use of rendition, detention, and enhanced interrogation.”

Let’s all go to the website and show our support. Let them know the most important life is an American life, and those threatening our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness will meet their demise.
