The #1 reason U.S. should not deal with Iran

You want to know why you don’t deal with Iran? It is the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism and has been attacking Americans since the 1983 Beirut bombing attack.

And not surprisingly, we now know the price for Iranian assistance in Iraq. AFP via Yahoo UK News reports, “A top Iranian official said Wednesday that Tehran could consider working with the United States over the crisis in Iraq if talks on its nuclear program are successful. Asked about possible cooperation in Iraq, President Hassan Rouhani’s chief of staff Mohammad Nahavandian told reporters in Oslo that the nuclear talks were a “test for confidence building” saying, “If that comes to a final resolution, then there might be opportunities for other issues to be discussed.”

Some people say, well, we allied with Russia and Joseph Stalin in World War II. Yes, and look just how well that worked out.

A residual force in Iraq would have precluded al-Maliki from leaning towards becoming a client state of Iran. As well, it would have precluded him from unilaterally purging Sunni military leadership — and didn’t Stalin do some purging of his own?

Iran is looking to extend its regional hegemonic dominance and filling the vacuum left by our departure — and no, we don’t stay indefinitely. I don’t support nation-building, but I know this part of the world and its history.

Just like Tito in Yugoslavia, it requires a strong man to contain the undertow of ethnic, cultural, and mainly religious fault lines. It is not our job to police this, but it is our responsibility to deny despots, dictators, autocrats, and theocrats the opportunity to grow and expand — realizing their ultimate goal is regional and global domination.

Secular leadership is being assaulted in the Middle East to be replaced by Islamic totalitarian leadership from Rasputin-like mullahs, clerics, and ayatollahs.

As Stalin gained nuclear power for the Soviet Union, the world lived under the threat of nuclear engagement, but it would never occur because of the MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) theory. However, when it comes to Islamists, that theory is obsolete which is why we can have no talks and compromise with Iran — it is perceived as weakness.

I will have to admit, we are on the verge of a major global conflagration if we do not destroy ISIS. And it would be exacerbated if we allow Iran to gain nuclear capability because we are too inept and neutered to face ISIS ourselves.

However – and this is key — I do not want us to engage in combat operations under this current president.
